Cinders is a fictional city in New York State located approximately near the real city of Montauk. It is a small city trying to make it big. The school is perhaps the biggest attraction it has to offer, though it has been trying to attract outside businesses by expanding its area.

The beaches are within walking distance of downtown, and there is a forest on the outskirts of the city.

Because it is a small town, it is easy to remember people's names and faces, thus is it easy to get in trouble if caught engaging in illegal activity. However, this doesn't mean the city is void of it.

Lux Lucis is a boarding school that seeks to foster talents of teenagers from around the globe. As long as you can speak English, you can a chance of gaining admittance.

Because the school receives private funding, the tuition is low, and some students may even be granted scholarships to entice them to attend.

Don't think that everyone who attends the school is a natural in talent, though. There is a program that seeks to "rehabilitate" teenagers by placing them within a majority of well-behaved, talented group. Remedial classes and Honors classes are both offered as well as your basics.

Not everyone is required to take an art class or join a sports team, but participation in events, clubs, and teams is encouraged.

The school strives to be the best of the best, and within ten shorts years, it's already gained quite the reputation.
