Max is definitely one for the living in the here-and-now and acting before thinking. Even being a senior, the world is still quite an adventure and he doesn‘t see why so many get worked up over the last year. It isn’t like graduating instantly made you an adult, there are still so many things to explore. Well, he calls it exploring the world but most of the time the boy has no clue what he’s doing, using the excuse that it looked like fun. Many realize over time that he is far from the brightest, but he is outgoing if given the chance he will cover arms with ink like his are most of the time.
He enjoys being surrounded by friends since he isn‘t one for much alone time. Though being as outgoing as he is, with a small filter with words, sometimes he shocks with what he does say. Max just doesn‘t seem to catch on all that the time. It is just a part of his very expressive personality that is usually clearly shown on his face.
Max hasn't had much experience in the realms of romantic relationships. He has had a girlfriend here and there but none seemed to stick with the boy who seemed to be more in his own world at times then the real one. He just doesn't know how to put a difference between "friend" and "love". His past girlfriends had complained about such things being treated mostly just like another friend and had broken it off with him. So he isn't up to searching out for 'the girl' again and is just going to let what happens, happen.
Instead of enjoying the fireworks of the evening as she had a year before, that Fourth of July, Amanda Ragsley was in the hospital with her new son. The young woman worried if her and her husband would be able to actually raise a child of their own. They had gotten married just barely a year ago and hadn’t planned to have any children so early. Though when they did have their son, there was no way that could see giving him up for adoption. So, the young boy was named Maxwell Talon Ragsley and taken home to be raised by the young couple in the warm North Carolina summer.
Max grew up as the only child of the Ragsley family, taking on much of his mother’s outgoing personality as he grew older. Childhood was fun for the boy, playing with friends, going to see the ocean that seemed to stretch forever, and many more. Though it wasn’t all fun since he seemed to have a knack for getting in trouble and school was a torture to the young Maxwell. He just always wished for summer break when his parents were able to take off work more and the small family would go see the ocean.
As he got older, he was better and more able to control himself but still classes where such a horrible way to spend the day. Much of the lessons lost to him as he would slip into his own world, amusing his own self instead of paying attention. Test were turned in with more pictures and sketched designs than any true answers, which seemed only anger his teachers more. Though to Max, school was still just a time when he would spend the colder months until he was released once again for those few months in the summer.
His parents were disappointed, to say the least, in their son always try to push him academically even if none of it seemed to stick with him for long. That was when his mother started looking into different ways to get her so to focus, his senior year was soon approaching and she didn’t want to see her son waste his life away like she feared he would. That was how she had discovered the boarding school in New York and signed Maxwell up for his final year in high school. Hopefully someone there could instill something in her son that they had not seem to do.
