Dominic sat in the corner with his food like he always did. It wasn't that he was antisocial it was simply that he didn't have anyone to sit with really. most of his only friends had different lunch times. He had his headphones on, as always, volume all the way up and face first in his food or some sheet music. Today he had his feet up on the table, sheet music for his next project in his lap as he eat with one hand. He was bouncing a foot as he listened to the music on his mp3 player while he read the music, mouthing the words when his mouth wasn't full of pizza. Dominic was excited to do the next project, it was a song he actually liked and loved. They were asked to pick a song that fitted them and he picked Wayward Son by Kansas. He bounced his foot as he mouthed along with the song.
Dominic looked around the hall watching all the others all clustered together and chit chatting. He wondered what was happening in his old school in Texas. He was sure his once best friend was sitting on the table talking to some chicks and making plans for the next house party. His ex, Lara and her tool Simon were probably in the corner with all the jocks and cheerleaders. He could pretty much seeing all the same kids here. He saw a girl in the corner with a a boy draped over her talking with all the jocks and cheerleaders. He saw the party boy in the middle of the hall with a crowed of Ke$ah wannabes. He shock his head, wow, nothing was different.

Chris meandered into the dining hall, nose dug in a book. She was reading some short fantasy novella about a dwarf who was trying to save his city from a volcanic eruption. It wasn’t the best thing she had ever read, but it was enough to keep her interest during lunch. As she wandered between the tables, she ignored the indignant comments as she almost bumped into people. Her book was just too good for her to pay attention to where she was going. After she got her food (ew, cafeteria food...) she balanced her tray on one hand and continued thumbing through the novella with her other. This time, she got more than indignant comments; people flat out yelled at her to pay attention. Chris still ignored them, however. They were so annoying. She was just trying to keep her spirits up. After all, she was still upset with her parents for sending her away to this academy. She just wanted to go back to Chicago and find Ty. Upon thinking of Ty, she began to wonder what he was doing. She hadn’t seen him since the day before he left, and she missed him so much. She wished things could go back to the way they were. Lux Lucis was nice, but different. And Ty wasn’t there. As she dove deeper into her thoughts, she started to lose track even of where she was in her book, let alone where she was walking. When a table suddenly appeared directly in front of her, she gasped and lurched forwards, just barely managing to keep her tray upright. “Sorry!” she exclaimed, reluctantly closing her book and looking at the person who had almost worn her lunch. He didn’t look like anyone from her classes, although she had only been at Lux Lucis for a couple of months. Of course she wouldn’t remember all of the faces. Even still, he didn’t ring a bell. Then she noticed that he was sitting alone. She really hadn’t wanted to sit with anyone at all, but she thought she at least owed an explanation if he wanted it. “May I sit here?” Chris asked, gesturing to an empty seat across the table from him. Dom wasn't paying attention. His volume was up and he was face first in sheet music. He nodded his head and tapped his foot along with the beat mouthing the words. It wasn't until he reached for a fry that he saw the girl standing there. Dom pulled his headphones off and nodded "Have at it. Don't stand there like a cow asleep on it's feet." he said, letting some of his southern side out. Dom normally kept it hidden but he let it slip now and than. Dominic turned his volume down and took one headphone off of his ear so he could hear should the girl want to strike up a conversation.
Dominic eye'd the girl a little. She was cute, maybe not a hottie but she wasn't exactly lacking in the looks. He watched her for a few seconds before he went back to his sheet music. He sunk down in his seat some more and sighed going back to his sheet music.

Christiana grimaced as she waited for the guy to answer. When he did, however, she coughed indignantly.
“Sorry…” she mumbled, her forehead wrinkling a bit in her distress. However, she had gotten a semi-positive response, so she slowly sank into the chair opposite him and placed her tray on the table, trying to keep her food as close to her as possible. She didn’t want to infringe on his privacy any more than she had to. He was attractive, she could say that, but she didn’t feel like trying to talk to him or start a casual friendship. It was a stretch for her.
Instead, she focused on eating her lunch. She had picked a slice of cheese pizza and a Greek salad. Picking at the food, she was absently aware of his eyes on her for a moment. But, when he returned to what he had been doing, she pushed him out of her mind. Her book lay, forgotten, on the table beside her as she ate.
However, then she noticed what he was doing as she looked up at a shout from across the cafeteria. He had sheet music.
“You’re in music?” she asked, putting her fork down and looking at him. She kept her eyes slightly averted, however, still not trusting herself to be forward.

Dominic was used to sitting alone, in fact he normally counted on it, but it wasn't that he'd say no to some company. He smiled a little at her before he answered "Yeah." he said putting his music on the table and then sitting forward to eat properly. He knew this wasn't real food but it was as real as he was gonna get so he started in on it.
He smiled at her gain "So what program are you in?" he asked drinking some of the Dr.Pepper he had fought someone for. Dominic was a true Texan, he wanted nothing else but Dr.Pepper and stake. Salad and water was for cows, pigs and garbles and Dominic was none of those.
He polished off the last bit of pizza and leaned back in his chair to get back to his sheet music. He kept his headphones off in order to listen should the girl want to start talking and he would gladly take up a conversation with her should she wish.
