Anyone who had just met Dan Bi can tell a few things straight away: he's shy, he's reserved, and he talks a lot about books. He gets great grades in school, and he has talent in sports as well. Yes, Dan Bi is well-rounded when it comes to these matters. But when it comes to social skills, he is a little lacking.

You see, Dan Bi is incredibly shy, and he's awkward at conversation. He tends to try to fill awkward silence with random facts he's memorized. He isn't good around strangers and does everything in his power to not make eye contact, especially with girls.

Yes, with girls, Dan Bi is at his most awkward. He doesn't know how to deal with them if he doesn't know them. But those that become his friends are probably his closest. He enjoys their company over boys because they make him feel better about his shy nature, and they're always supportive in emotional issues. But with a girl he likes... you can forget about him ever trying to talk to her. He just wouldn't know what to do.

With his family, relations can sometimes be strained. He has a good relationship with both parents, though he is typically closer with his father. His two brothers, on the other hand, can be described as sibling rivalry. They love each other, sure, but they often compete in terms of sports, grades, and even girls. It's safe to say that in the latter, it's Dan Bi who loses.

Seo Dan Bi was originally born in Seoul, Korea to a teenage mother and her dead beat boyfriend. Because she didn't want to raise a kid, she put him up for adoption where he was eventually adopted by an American couple looking to adopt a foreign child. During the legal process, Dan Bi's name was officially changed to Daniel Benjamin and he took on the surname "Summers" from his adoptive parents, who were, by the way, both men.

He was the youngest of three boys adopted by the couple. His eldest brother was two years older than him and named Kyrian. His other older brother was a year older than him and named Christian, and then there was him. Daniel. The youngest. Because they were all close in age, they often attended the same schools and grew to be familiar with each other's social circles.

As they got older, Kyrian began to act out. At first it was being disruptive in class and pushing other kids down on the playground, but even at ten years old he began to swear at his parents, teachers, and anyone else who tried to help him, including his brothers. And while this was going on, Dan Bi began to withdraw further into his shell. He took reading as a means of escape from Kyrian's fits.

His mother and father didn't know what to do, but after many repeated trips to the psychiatrist, it was determined that his brother had experienced trauma as a young boy and that he was simply acting out for attention. Along with being medicated for depression, he was sent to a therapist. Although Dan Bi was too young at the time to understand, he would grow to worry for his brother's safety and health.

For even with the fact he was being sent to a therapist, the problems soon grew bigger and bigger. And Dan Bi felt pushed back into the shadows further and further. He never did anything quite so noticeable for people to really see him. He was the short, scrawny, shy Summers boy. He was the boy who never spoke up and kept his head hung at school.

It was true, his parents provided for him as best they could, they were there for him when he had troubles or needed a shoulder to cry on. They celebrated his achievements, they hugged him when he cried, they punished him on the rare occasion he did act out. But nothing he did could ever compare to the trouble Kyrian could dig up.

Finally coming to their wits end, Kyrian was sent to Lux Lucis Academy to participate in their rehabilitation program. And once he was out of the house, things remained a lot calmer and almost normal. To tell the truth, Dan Bi treasured those two years. He and Christian got along well, in fact, it was because of him that Dan Bi got into sports, soccer to be precise. He also enjoyed running and subsequently joined his Junior High's track team as well.

It wasn't until he was at a party that he discovered his love for dance. All it took was a cute girl's compliment of his dancing for him to really try to improve it. And when it was his turn to be shipped off to Lux Lucis, he decided to make his concentration in hip hop dancing-- as well as soccer and track.
