Hair: Auburn hair- naturally black, but bleached. Eyes: Brown. Height: 5'4" Weight: 125 lbs.
Risette is a fun-loving, fiery, outgoing girl. She loves to have fun and has absolute wild abandon about most serious matters. She works hard and parties harder. She's known for being flirty, a tease, and very, very sweet. She is a people pleaser and wants people to be happy. However, don't underestimate her as being a pushover. If you try to take too much control, she will stand up and kick your ass. She's not afraid of fighting- due to getting initiated into her gang through a beating, she has learned how to be tough, despite her small size.
For her friends, she would die. You see, she is an incredibly loyal person, and if you are nice to her, she will return it ten fold. She tries to respect people's emotions, though she isn't always aware of them. She can be perceptive and oblivious, it really depends on the person and how long she's known them. The longer she knows you, the better she is at reading you. She isn't the best judge of character, and would likely believe someone who offered her candy to get in their car-- well, she's not stupid, so maybe not that example... but she does believe the best in people, and really, isn't that all she can do?
Risette never speaks about her family. Any subject of them will have her telling you that her parents are dead and she has an estranged older brother. That's half true. Her parents are alive, and she has an estranged older half brother. But to her, her parents are dead, and she will never speak of them. She carries a lot of anger, frustration, and fury in her heart. It can show through... but she only allows it to when she's alone. At least, she tries. If she really trusts a person, then she may just share some of her secrets.
She's had her large share of unfortunate events, but you wouldn't know it just by speaking to her on a day to day basis. She is thankful for all that she has, and she believes in looking forward to the future instead of dwelling in the past.
You want to know about Risette? Then you're going to have to meet a young girl named Rise Deyana Jung. Her mother was only sixteen when she had her, but because the man she was with at the time wanted kids, she kept her around. The man was wealthy, a hard worker, and a great father. But as a husband, he failed, and when her mother caught him cheating with another woman, she left him and took her four year old daughter with her.
From there, her mother got involved with a famous man, a politician in the US-- he had been visiting South Korea and had ended up with her during one wild night. Eventually, he asked her to marry him, and Rise found herself being flown over the ocean to live in the wonderful, sunny state of California- welcome to Hollywood.
Life as a politician's daughter was, for her, terrible. Rise was a shy girl, and she hated attention. The media frenzy scared her, but her mother ate it up. And it remain that way until the girl was ten. When her stepfather lost all of his money in an embezzlement scandal, her mother filed for divorce.
Broke, homeless, and in a foreign country, the two had no one to turn to. Rise admired her mother's strength and determination, and her mother found work waitressing at one of the more exclusive clubs in town. For you see, her mother was a very beautiful woman- and beauty paid in the entertainment business.
Her mother worked all night and slept all day. Rise was left to her own devices- she studied on her own, walked to the school bus, made her own lunches, fed herself dinner... she learned how to be on her own from an early age. But her mother was working and providing for them, so she didn't mind. Making friends in school was still difficult. She wasn't sociable- and she kept to herself.
And for her, she was about to hit the jackpot. One night while waitressing, she met the lead singer of an up and coming rock band. They had a passionate, wild night of fun, and two nights later, they eloped. Rise didn't see her mother for several days, but it wasn't uncommon. Her mother did return for her, and they moved out of the house because they would be joining her new husband on tour.
From there, she was home schooled, though her mother was no teacher. She was only concerned with the jewelry, the gifts, the parties, the sex... she never seemed to realize she had a young daughter. But still, Rise loved her mother and wanted to be like her. Her mother made friends so easily whereas Rise had never made a friend. Her mother was pretty, and Rise considered herself plain. Her mother was her idol.
And when the woman was gone, she would dress up in her clothes, use her makeup, and even try to sing and dance like she did. But her mother was determined to make it to the top. At 28, she knew her star would be soon fading. And when she met a movie producer at one of the loud, garish parties, she would have him. And she did. The man was obsessed with making money, and he was also obsessed with beautiful women.
Rise was thankful for the new, permanent home. She had hated all of the travel, and at least she was familiar with the city of Hollywood. She was content to sit in the corner and go unnoticed, even if she wished she could have been like her mother. She was eventually left to be home schooled with a tutor when the schoolyard bullying got to be too much for her in her freshman year of high school. And though she had been coached in acting, singing, and dancing, she bombed her auditions her agents had arranged and never landed a single role- doing nothing to help her self esteem.
Yes, you see, while her mother was rising to fame, she was drowning. It seemed that the only person in the house who ever bothered to take notice was her stepfather. It was his idea to get her a tutor, his idea to finally pull her from the auditions, and his idea that she should be allowed to stay at home, tucked away inside the house if that was what she wanted.
Rise had never trusted any of her fathers like she had him. But that was because she actually got to spend time with him, and she thought that maybe, at least, she and her mother had found a good, steady home where everything would be okay. But everything wouldn't be okay. Not too long after Rise turned fourteen, she saw a side of the man she never expected to see. And thought she screamed, begged, and fought, she couldn't stop what happened to her.
And the cycle continued to repeat itself. Rise wanted to tell her mother, but could never find the right time. Her mother was always at work, and when she wasn't at work, she was with her husband. Nothing changed, but Rise planned on going to school out of the state. She had applied to Lux Lucis, hoping that distance would close the gap. She never told her parents of her plan, though she wanted to tell her mother... though it was probably a good thing that she didn't.
What had become a disgustingly routine thing was interrupted when her mother came home from her movie shoot early as a surprise. She caught her husband and daughter "together", and Rise thought she had been saved. Until the woman pushed the man off of her and began to hit her, screaming that she had seduced her husband.
Rise's world came crashing down around her. The words hurts worse than the beating ever could. And though her stepfather pulled her mother off of her, the damage was done. That very night, Rise fled with only the money in her pocket and the backpack with the few things she could carry. She left the mansion for a bus-stop and somehow managed to make her way to Cinders, New York, within a week.
It was only pure luck she managed to get there safe and unscathed-- at least in terms of travel. With her large allowance she had gotten, the travel had been the least of her problems. She sought solace within the city and eventually found herself a part-time job by lying around her age. She changed her name from Rise to "Risette" and from Deyana to "Diana". Not big changes, but enough that no one would see the obvious similarities (it wasn't as if she was famous), and just enough she'd still respond when spoken to.
When she started school, she was roomed with a girl named Victoria Blake. And they became fast friends. It was due to Victoria that Risette came out of her shell. She began to go to parties and talk to boys. She tried out for cheerleading and though she didn't get in her freshman year, she still had fun.
It was her sophomore year that things changed. Towards the beginning of the year, she met a boy named Kyrian Lee Summers. And how did she meet him? Well, she had unknowingly walked into gang territory wearing rival colors. Immediately, they thought that she was the enemy and would have roughed her up had he not stepped in the way and told the group she was with him.
And he never asked her anything in return. The confusion was great, but over the course of the year, her crush grew bigger and bigger-- and then she found out that Victoria was dating him. She pretended to be happy for her friend, even if she was very displeased with the situation. But... she decided to take charge. She went back to the gang territory, and after a series of complicated events, she was accepted in. She could have either slept with some of the guys or suffered a terrible beating- and she chose the latter from which she had to recover a few broken bones over the summer. And now that it's her junior year, she's finally on the cheer leading team, one of the best hip hop dancers, and ready to show the world what she's got.
She's determined to no longer be the shy, unsure girl. She will be a star- and she won't let anything or anybody hold her back.
