Grim wasn't in the best of moods- he'd left the dance floor in a hurry after receiving a text from his sister... a text that had him worried out of his mind, and he wasn't sure whether to call her or to get high and ignore the situation. But he was her older brother, and he wanted to protect her as best as he could.
He stopped thinking about it and just speed dialed her. But she didn't answer. He wanted to throw his phone against the wall, but how would she get in touch with him or him with her otherwise? She didn't pick up unless she knew the number, and he knew that she knew his number. He growled in frustration and leaned against the wall, taking out a flask of everclear and swigging it.
He couldn't get high at a time like this. He would just get paranoid and drive himself insane. Therefore, he would get drunk and forget his troubles instead. He was thankful for the dark makeup and costume, because if he started crying, no one would notice... and he didn't need anyone to notice. He would just hang back until everyone else was too busy to notice a guy leaving the party early. He didn't care about any stupid popularity rituals, but he didn't need more gossip spreading about the weird drugged up kid.
If only because he didn't want to have to deal with room searches and police dogs.

With the dance just beginning students were still sort of attempting to get into the swing of things, it was a slow start, but the DJ had made the music more than loud enough it seemed. Maybe it was just because of how she still felt after the ghost tour, or the fact that she was barely able to sleep since then...but her head was already aching. Sipping at the strangely spiced punch she slipped out of the dance hall. Maybe some cooler air would help her head...maybe she would be able to relax in some peace and quiet.
The October night was cold, the wind gentle though as she stepped out her costume providing little support as the black and white stripped stockings would do little against the wind . It felt nice thought at first as the hall was already getting warm with the press of bodies and it would only get warmer from there. Stepping off of the set path from the building she figured she'd simply make a round or two till she felt better, but she got as far as the first corner before seeing someone else out here.
At first her heart jumped up into her throat at the costume, but everyone was in costume, some scary, some sexy, some cute...and some just silly...so it had to be a student...
"Hi there!" She started, smiling as she slowly walked a little closer, one hand on the building to balance herself in the high heels she wasn't use to. "I guess I'm not the only one who had to get out for a bit am I?" Giving a small chuckle she grimaced a little at the pain that ran through her head a little before she went back to smiling again, glancing at the young man, studying him for a moment.
"Are you okay? Having any fun in there?"

A teacher. Great, just great. What was she doing here? Trying to see if he was up to something illegal? He hid the alcohol quickly in his robes before she could see it. The last thing he needed was to have the one thing that kept him sane being taken away.
He sighed at Ros- this was the librarian, wasn't it? He had seen her near Mr. Connor's classroom before. Was she his girlfriend or something? Whatever, it wasn't like he really cared. "I guess not." he responded to the having a good time question. Parties were his scene, but school-sponsored events were not.
He unfolded his arms and shifted against the brick wall in order to fully look at her. She didn't seem as if she was going to stand in the way of him getting wasted, but he wasn't going to take that chance. If he could just get around her without her figuring out that he was doing just that, he would be golden.
"...What about you? Why'd you come out?" he asked. There could have been numerous reasons, and he may not have cared, but he could at least pretend to care. What was that called again? Being polite?

The grass around the building was soft, the wide heels still sinking a little bit into the dirt trying to throw her off balance, but the wall served its purpose and held her up as she stopped within reach of the other. She wasn't going after him, just getting closer so they didn't have to shout while she stayed out here and he didn't walk away from her talking to him.
While most kids would just say fine he didn't even try to hide it that he wasn't having fun and she frowned just a little, "I'm sorry. I guess it isn't very cool to have a party with all your teachers watching is it? At least you get to be with friends, right...Grim...Grimoflur? Grimolfur?" The young librarian repeated several times, not very good with name she tried to remember during the roll call at the beginning. It was hard to forget the name, but harder to remember how to pronounce it.
Leaning against the wall the petticoat under the skirt of her dress puffed it all out in the front as hands went to try to smooth it out and press it down as she finished the glass of punch she'd brought out with her. She chuckled softly at his question about her own reasons for exiting the party, "Well it's been a long time since I've gone to anything like this that wasn't a family affair. It's a little overwhelming, the lights, the music, all the people, very warm. It got a little suffocating so I needed a small break, or else this headache was going to only get worse."
Her gaze stayed steady on the student as she gave a small shrug, "I'm sorry, I really don't mean to bother you if I am. You looked a bit lonely. The whole point is to have fun, but I guess it's still hard to make it fun for everyone. Besides after being here so long it's nice to finally chat with a few more students, unlike the teachers I don't get see everyone every day."
