The weather was growing steadily colder as time went by, something Lex wasn't too sure he was fond of. It was actually kind of a pain, he thought as he tugged his jacket tighter around himself. There was a fairly decent breeze off the water down by the docks, and that certainly didn't help the temperatures any. Aleix brushed his wind blown dreads back over his shoulder as he rested against a crate to pull out his cigarettes. He'd been at the warehouses again with some friends, but had soon felt the need to get out of there. Somehow, though he's not fully sure how, Lexi ended up at the docks. Part of him wanted to venture out onto the crumbling wooden walkways, but he knew that was a bad idea and had to repeatedly talk himself out of it. Maybe it was a good thing he hadn't taken up the offer of alcohol earlier, because chances were that if he had, he would've ended up out on the docks and then undoubtedly into the cold water. Lexi was thin and didn't weigh all that much, but that didn't mean those old, rotted boards would support him any. Yes, clear thinking near the water was definitely a good idea, he decided while lighting up one of the unhealthy sticks of tobacco. Putting the pack back into his bag, Lex couldn't help but sigh softly. He was trying to think of a way to shake things up a bit, hopefully without his parents knowing because he really didn't fancy getting yanked out of school or something like that. He did want to graduate, but something needed to change. It grew harder and harder to keep up the happy persona everyone had come to know and expect. Really, there wasn't many people Aleix wanted to know otherwise, either. No, the majority of the world was better off thinking he was happy and that everything was perfect. After all, Lexi was sweet and innocent and always happy. What could possibly be wrong with a boring monotonous life you've come to hate? He still blamed that car crash. If it hadn't been for the wreck, he'd be at home with the friends he'd gotten close to. Rolling his eyes slightly at himself, Lex took a long drag off his cigarette. It was definitely too early in the day for all that emo bullshit. tag;; open word count;; 399 notes;; ohai outfit;; cickit credit;; graphics and form: alice. lyrics: "just a dream", nelly.

The weather, though cold, was still nice. Well, for her terms of nice meant there wasn't a thunder/lightning storm and/or there wasn't a blizzard. She was excited that she'd be getting to experience long periods of snow instead of just the weekly visits she got when she visited her dad and her step-family in Chicago. In South Carolina it was rare to get snow and so she never really got to enjoy it. Being a lover of the outdoors she couldn't very well coop herself inside and thus had ventured into town to explore. Of course, tackling the city was someone she'd been doing off and on for the past few weeks so she'd pretty much seen everything. Or well, everything in town. Everything bordering the town was a completely different story and therefore this day she had wandered into the old dock area.
She was casually walking around, her hands stuffed into the pocket of her warm, green, button-down jacket. Her milk chocolate eyes gazed down to make sure she didn't trip over a particular rough patch of concrete. It didn't seem like the place had been picked up in a while. There were pot holes everywhere and the sidewalks were covered with weeds. Especially along the old rundown wooden docks, she was afraid to go down them just in case the wood broke and she tumbled into the water. That definitely did not sound like a good idea. And a shiver ran up her spine at just the thought.
In her pocket was her ipod though she didn't have it playing at all, simply because she wanted to enjoy all of nature, not just blast out to some jams and forget her worries. Actually, come to think of it, she was pretty worry free so far. And it was a nice change compared to always fretting about Jean and her mother and what gross things they were up to now. Not that she really cared to think of such things as it tended to just gross her out. But she was not fretting, and that was reason to celebrate. Though.. seeing as she was particularly alone she supposed she could wait to celebrate later as it wasn't necessarily fun to celebrate alone at least about something so awesome as being carefree.
Emmalynn's brunette hair was down hanging just past her shoulder blades and as always straight as a pin, though pretty thick no less. She pushed some hair behind her ear as she approached the edge of the road when it hit the dead end and she leaned over a railing near the boat launch to see if she could spot any fishes or ducks in the water. Of course, the water was a bit murky here and the grass covered in weeds. This place would look cool if they would just put some work into it, and freshen it up a bit. If anything they could turn it into a cute little beach side port restaurant or something.
She imagined setting up shop here, or turning the building into a little cottage area or something. If the place was spruced up it could be turned into a cute little rent-a-lodge place or something. In any case, it was only about that time that she noticed all the trash littered around the place and she frowned. Even if this place was rundown there was no reason to litter. She found an old plastic walmart bag attached to a tree and she grabbed it beginning to pick up the litter left around the place. Usually not with her bare hands, sometimes she would pick things up with a stick or use her foot to scoot an old dirty wrapper into the bag.
