Introductions are always the hardest for Miss Emmalynn Nugget, as people tend to get the wrong impression of her. Her mind has a tendency to wander off and its hard for her to stay focused for the most part. Besides that, she's always found introductions rather embarrassing. After all, your just meeting a new person for the first time. You don't know exactly how they'll react to anything you say. And just by looking at someone doesn't honestly tell you if they will bite your head off or act all nice and friendly. And then even first impressions can be rather deceiving. Perhaps, she just over analyzes first interactions. But she's pretty sure she doesn't come off the way she wants to when first meeting someone. She often suspects she acts horrendously awful for the most part. And then, she's surprised if someone comes up to her after. Anyways, Emmalynn can come off as a bit shy, a bit scatterbrained, or pretty awkward when first meeting someone.

In fact, once you get past the first introductions one can learn that Emmalynn is actually a very caring girl concerned about the environment, children, animals, other people's feeling and well-beings. She tries to give her two-cents when her friends need advice, though, has a hard time following her own advice. All in all, she comes off as a bit motherly with a child-like nature. She has a mild case of ADD which she takes medication for regularly. To burn off this excess energy she often ends up wandering off or going exploring. She's kind of adventurous in that way, though she is easily scared off by snakes, large dogs, creepy looking shadows and trees, even the occasional large bug.

She's very girly in her ways, she likes to look nice and dress pretty. There is never a day when she doesn't have a light touch of make up on her face. She's very colorful in her dressing styles. If you were to ask her what her favorite color was, she'd tell you it was the colors of the rainbow. But she just loves the vibrant colors. Rainbows would be more likely to describe her wardrobe tastes, because it reminds her of happiness. And one always needs something to keep their mood cheery or just make them smile.

Emmalynn is an easy person to read, practically wearing her heart on her sleeve. She's good at keeping secrets though she can't pull off a lie even if she wanted to. Emmalynn is a very honest person, but she also doesn't like to hurt people so avoids it all costs. Even if not hurting someone else ends up hurting herself even more. She loves to read about just about anything (except vampire love stories). She works hard to get good grades, and at times it's even harder for her to focus due to her ADD. But she strives more than anything to exceed in her studies.

Emmalynn is non-violent and avoids confrontation at all costs. Occasionally she can get frustrated and just bottles her emotions up inside. She doesn't like to complain and tends to keep those such opinions to herself, till she can't hold them back any longer. In these cases, she's prone to yelling or running off to deal with her issues on her own. Though this doesn't always solve her problems and eventually she does have to face the facts and try to solve her problems by a different means.

Basically, Emmalynn is like every other teenager dealing with a lot of different issues, some unimportant, others are life-changing. She's a caring, adventurous though easily scared girl who doesn't like to push her own issues onto other people and this can often times lead to more trouble. She loves people but often needs her own space to handle issues she may be dealing with. In the end, she'll avoid a fight by all means even if the end result causes herself even more pain. She's a great friend, a wimp of an enemy, and her love life.. well, it's currently non-existent.

Fears: Lightning; - she has an outrageous fear of being struck by lightning. It's perhaps an irrational fear considering the likelihood of being struck by lightning. But its not something she can honestly control or prevent. This is also the reason why she doesn't go anywhere during a thunderstorm.

Likes:

• Reading; - Emmalynn is an avid-bookworm. She loves to read. If she could read all day she would. Though, she obviously has to eat, sleep, actually learn stuff and of course, occasionally socialize with her friends and peers.
  
• Nature; - Emmalynn loves the outdoors. She loves nature and experiencing it. If she could have class outside all season long no matter rain or shine or in the middle of a blizzard she really would love her classes more. If not spotted at the library or amongst friends, one can often find her outside.
  
• Children; - Emmalynn loves children, they make her smile and they are quite fun to play with. She also knows that she wants to help young children in some way or at least have children in the distant future.
  
• Animals; - As a lover of nature and children, she's also quite fond of animals. She loves most kinds of animals, especially the furry variety. Though there are a few animals that do creep her out.
  
• Ice Cream; - One of her most favorite desserts is ice cream. Its better than pie, cake, and chocolate in her opinion.
  
• Board Games - Growing up as an only child wasn't exactly the most exciting thing. But when she visited her dad she often got to play board games with her step-siblings.
  
• Rainbows; - Emmalynn loves color, and one thing that often has a lot of different array of colors are rainbows. She doesn't have one set favorite color. In fact, if you asked her that question, she'd admit her favorite color was the rainbow.
  
• Cleanliness; - She's always been into being clean, and can be a bit obsessive about some things, like brushing her teeth (which she does three to four times a day). Just because she's clean it doesn't necessarily mean that's she's organized because that's a whole other story altogether.

Dislikes:

• Thunderstorms; - They are like God's way of pounding out his rage onto the earth. This is about the one time where she absolutely will not go out in the rain. She's also pretty terrified of being struck by lightning.
  
• Large Dogs; - Though an animal lover, when she was little a neighbor's mastiff snapped at her and she's been pretty scared of large breed dogs ever since.
  
• Spaghetti; - It looks like worms.
  
• Criminals; - Because they are bad. And because they think they can get away with crimes.
  
• Love Stories that involve vampires and mortals; - YUCK! One reason? Aren't we against pedophiles?
  
• Losing things; - Emmalynn can be pretty scatterbrained due to her ADD, and remembering where things are can be pretty hard. Also, finding things can be even harder.
  
• Blood; - Eww.. at large amounts of blood like gaping wounds and such, she's likely to become squeamish and/or faint.
  
• Artifical lemonade; - because its fake and not as good as the real lemonade with actual fresh lemons used. Sure, its a bit more sour, but you can add just enough sugar to fit your own personal needs.
  
• Gays - She would never push her viewpoints onto other people, but she has a natural hatred for gays simply because of her mother and her "relationship" with Jean. She's disgusted with the very thought of the same gendered people doing intimate things together and often times tries to avoid them.

Strengths:

• Cleanliness; - She is something of a clean freak, though this most focuses on her hygiene and personal upkeep aspect. She actually prides herself in her cleanliness.
  
• Ambitious; - Emmalynn is quite ambitious though it may not often times show in her school work due to her ADD. But she doesn't easily give up with things such as her future are involved.

Weaknesses:

• Passive; - Emmalynn is very non-violent/non-confrontational. She doesn't like getting into fights of any kind. Often in such cases her viewpoints can be pushed under the rug because she doesn't assert herself or push to have them heard.
  
• ADD; - Despite medication, its a constant battle for her to remain focused or to stay on task. And it can often times give people the wrong impression.

On May eleventh, at two in the morning in the middle of a huge thunderstorm that knocked out half of the city’s power in Charleston, South Carolina, Emmalynn Clara Nugget was born to Mary Lynn Nugget-Tide and Arnold Joseph Tide. The birthing went well despite the weather, and the couple was able to take their new child home after the overnight stay.

In her early years, by age seven Emmalynn was diagnosed with a mild version of ADD. Her father insisted on medication in the form of patches placed on her upper arm to maintain her energy levels. As she grew older, she was later introduced to pills to replace the patches. Her life was otherwise particularly normal. They lived in Chicago, Illinois up until her parents got divorced when she was eight.

Mary Lynn gained custody of Emmalynn and moved to Charleston, South Carolina where her parents lived. There, Mary got an apartment, and later upgraded to a small house where Emmalynn was then raised. Emmalynn minded the move, if only because she was now in particularly new area and making friends had always been pretty complicated as silly as that sounded.

By the time she was ten her mother began to see someone else, and not someone she usually brought around or showed to her daughter. Emmalynn, had grown a bit suspicious as to why her mother had grown not only a bit happier but seemed to be going out more. When, Mary finally got around to telling her about Jean Rae Brenham well, Emmalynn wasn't the least bit thrilled. While her mother continuously dated this other woman, which really just made her squirm and want to vomit, her father had just met someone new who already had children. And so, she honestly didn't want to disrupt that new happy love circle.

Tension grew over the years between her mother, Jean, and Emmalynn. Emmalynn often turned her focus towards schoolwork and friends to be able to ignore the happenings at home. If anything, when the opportunity arose to go a private school for her following high school years she jumped at the opportunity. She believed it was a sheer stroke of good fortune that she got into Lux Lucis Academy, and has been attending the school since her freshman year.
